⚠️ Emotional Suppression Might Be More Dangerous Than You Think
Hello Family,
Today’s message might just change the way you look at health, healing, and wholeness forever 💭
There’s a study that’s been echoing in my mind ever since I came across and feel would be an interesting share.
It’s one that you might carry with you for the rest of your days.
Let me break it down for you:

🚬 It Wasn’t the Cigarettes
In this small town, generations of people smoked.
Like a lot.
Some developed lung cancer and passed from it.
Others?
Lived long, seemingly unaffected lives.
Same town. Same air. Same habit.
So what was the difference?
The researchers found just one core distinction...
🧠 The ability to express healthy anger.
That was it.
Not diet.
Not exercise.
Not even the cigarettes.
The determining factor was whether or not a person suppressed their emotions..
Especially their anger.
Let that marinate.
💣 Emotional Suppression Has a Cost
This study shook me.
Because what it really says is this:
📉 Emotional suppression doesn’t just hurt your mental well-being—it literally affects your physical body.
There are physiological consequences to bottling up your truth.
There are real, lasting effects to pushing down your feelings and pretending you’re fine.
And that truth has two major takeaways I want to leave you with:
1️⃣ Emotional Regulation Is Life-Saving
Not figuratively. Literally.
When life knocks you off balance, your ability to return to baseline to regulate your nervous system is everything.
For me, that often looks like a 20-minute walk.
Simple. Free. Available.
Sometimes it’s the smallest tools that bring the biggest shifts.
2️⃣ Healthy Relationships Are the Medicine
Even when you have all the tools...
Even when you’re grounded, healed, and self-aware...
There will still be moments where life overwhelms you.
And when that happens, you need people.
Not just any people.
People who love you.
Who see you.
Who can hold space for your truth.
Even your big emotions.
And still remain.
Nothing, and I mean nothing, heals like being held by someone who gets it.
🧬 Your Healing Isn’t Just in What You Do…
It’s in how you feel while doing it.
In a time when we obsess over hacks and habits, air-chilled chicken, alkaline water, micro dosing, red light therapy...
Don’t forget the biggest variable:
